Be a collegiate athlete. Join Crew.

Prospective members of our team can browse through our website to gain an understanding of what it takes to be on the University of Chicago Crew. Remember, no experience is necessary to join. Crew really is the ultimate walk-on sport. However, we don't want just anyone. We need athletic, but, most importantly, dedicated new-comers who have what it takes to learn quickly, to push themselves and their fellow rowers, to be part of our team, and to fight to win.

At the University of Chicago, crew is a club team, not varsity. However, this does not mean we are any less competitive or hard-working. We perform just as well, if not better, than many club and varsity programs across the country. Our success is grounded in how well we govern ourselves and how dedicated each of our members are. Members of crew define what it means to be a student-athlete at the University of Chicago. We are leaders among our peers who know what discipline and hard work truly mean.
